No Shred For You? What’s YOUR Challenge

Ok friends, family and excuse-makers!!!  I’m SO kidding – you all know I LOVE you and I can say that because I used to weigh 278 lbs and made EVERY excuse in the book to NOT start exercising!…Let alone commit PUBLICLY to 30 DAYS IN A ROW!!!!  LOL

In all seriousness…You people are awesome!!

I’m go glad to know you…to be knowing you…and to be sharing in this journey to health, fitness and the FREEDOM that brings with you all!

Now, let’s figure out a way to make this work for everyone, deal?!

The 30 Day Shred is on and we are going to rock that challenge! You can sign up by leaving your comment at that page please.

It has been brought to my attention (thanks Andie from Austria!) that the dvd is not available in all parts of the world YET. (Go Jillian!) I also know that there are a few of you that may be holding back from joining us because you know exactly who Jillian Michaels is! OK, no joke this workout will be challenging.

If you’re able to do it and you’ve been exercising at least a bit, I say definitely go for the shred.

If you don’t have access to the dvd or you really do not feel that you are ready for the workout, I do not want you to be excluded here…I want this to be a team effort – 30 days of moving together – doing something that will challenge us all no matter what level we are starting from.

So, if this is you:

  • Do NOT feel bad, intimidated, shy etc…I’m gonna hi-five you below and we’re gonna get some stuff done here!
  • Please leave a comment below telling us what it is that you are going to commit to for those same 30 days – I’d LOVE to keep this about exercise for this challenge BUT you know where you’re at – push yourself but make it doable – walking, biking, swimming…20 min, 30 min, 45 min – that’s up to you – I think the important thing is that you are making a commitment to yourself. (and big bad meanie me – kidding) 😉
  • Be sure to sign up and say hello at the Facebook Page (we’ll be having some good discussion there as well)
  • Mark your calendar (Oct. 21)

I’m SO proud of YOU!

We’re getting ready to make some change happen and I really want YOU to be a part of it!

Paula, I WILL be exercised with everyone starting October 21. I have ordered the DVD….BUT…… not sure I can do it all. But no worries, if it is too much for me, in the beginning at least, I’ve got my good old Leslie Sansone ‘Walk Away the Pounds’ DVDs all dusted off and ready to go. I haven’t done much of ANYTHING for the last couple of years for various reasons… some good reasons… and some major lazy procrastination. I’ve walked a bit with Leslie during the last couple of days and am APPALLED at how far back I’ve slid. Sigh. But I like to think that, that day, there will be others suffering along with me, lol.

    cheers,

    pattyjo

  2. Way to go PattyJo! Wouldn’t be the same without you! 😉 Sounds like a good plan…

  3. Hi Paula,

I am for sure joining you in this challenge. And I LOVE the date you chose – because on November 19th I will be flying to Ireland for 10 days. So it’s the perfect motivation for me 🙂

I chose a DVD thats colled “Beach body Workout” – it offers 3 different workouts on 3 different levels – so that I can vary a bit and not get bored. And I can build up strenght to do level 3 throughout the workouts at the end.

    Love from Austria
    Andie

  4. That sounds perfect Andie – thanks for the update and please do keep me posted! Ireland?! FUN! I was there not quite a year ago…was a great time. Talk to you soon girlie.

  5. OK, I’ve not exercised for like three solid months. I have the Shred DVD, but I don’t think I was at that level even while I was exercising. So what I will do is either walk up and then down our hill, then up to my house OR if weather is inclement or my foot problems prevent the hill walking, then I will do as many stability pushups as I can in two sets with my TRX trainer.

I know it doesn’t sound like a lot. Technically, the last time I tried hill walking it flared up my feet to where I couldn’t do much of anything. But I did too much that time. I think this time, if I just keep things to our hill and don’t trek down to Main street, my feet might, just might adjust. If they don’t, I’ll go to the pushups.

I started working on this yesterday to try and get in gear. I managed 2 sets of 8 pushups, plus the walk. Even if I had to sit on our steps after getting home from the walk. Man, I need to shape up! (Neighbor’s cat Massimo enjoyed my lap while I was sitting though.)

  6. I need to add in more alternates. The hill walking might be doing in my feet already, they are hurting tonigh. My alternative will be walking at the gym on the flat or walking in the pool at the gym. Or doing my Nordic Track here at home.

  7. Cynthia, that is awesome! I think your challenge is perfect and we should all take it as an example to plan for success. Make it something doable…something that will stretch you in that you will do it for 30 days BUT not overwhelming because of the fact that you haven’t previously been exercising that much or consistently. Thanks so much for joining in! Looking forward to your progress!

  8. Hello Paula,

I am going to hold off on this challenge and wait until the next one. I am still recovering from my surgery, but appreciate you including me. Good luck to you and everyone else.

    Beckie

  9. No worries Beckie – thanks for letting me know. I’m trusting you will have a fast/full recovery…please do keep me posted, OK? 🙂

  10. I will be joining you and have the DVD although not quite to Jillian’s level of activity….my goal is to be able to COMPLETE the video by the end of the 30 days and to do at least 20 minutes of activity a day!! Thanks for the motivation!

  11. Angi – awesome goal! I love it and I’m sure you’re gonna do it! Let’s keep each other posted…thanks for the commment. Have a great day!

  12. I should probably mention that I do not have a Facebook account. I’m thinking about it.
