Please don’t let the purchase of items stand in your way of getting started. Begin with what you have now. You can always add to your plan later.
This is a list of some basic items that you may need. These are either things I personally use (or have used) on a day-to-day basis or resources that I believe would benefit you as you set out on your weight loss journey.

- comfortable walking shoes (I love ASICS shoes)
- floor mat (if you will be doing any floor work)
- set of dumbbells (5 lbs to start, working up to 10 lbs)
- iPod (not essential, but I love listening to something while walking)
- 8 Minute Abs Workout DVD (I do this 5 days/wk and I think it has made a HUGE difference to my waist/core!)
- Pilates DVD (I do this 3 days/wk and again feel that it has had a great impact - I use Ana Caban Beginning Mat Workout by Living Arts)
- comfortable walking clothes
(sweats, shorts)
Food Related:
- scale for weighing food
- calorie counting book (I use The Biggest Loser Calorie Counter
- low calorie cookbook(s)
